Orient Overseas Container Lines took delivery of the last in a line of 16 vessels with a capacity of 4,578 20-foot equivalent container units that it ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries.

The OOCL Jakarta was also the last of 32 vessels of all sizes OOCL ordered from Samsung. In addition to the 16 vessels of the 4,578-TEU size, South Korea's Samsung also built 16 vessels of 8,064-TEU capacity.

The OOCL Jakarta will be deployed in OOCL’s CPX service on the following intra-Asia port rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Karachi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Penang, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai in a-35 day round trip.
